Most finance people are stuck in the weeds and data of their everyday jobs.

Leadership wants more. So do you. When you’re able to perform analytically, think strategically and communicate effectively, everyone wins.

  • Are you being asked to do more with less?

  • Is leadership struggling to make strategic decisions because of the complexity and speed of the business?

  • Are you a go-getter who feels like you’re having to wait for opportunities to come to you?

  • Are you anxious about the future of your career depending on the decisions of other people?

  • Do you half-heartedly joke with your colleagues about what a mess your data and processes are?

  • Are you overwhelmed and frustrated by the amount of manual work you have to do?

  • Have you ever felt that there has to be a better way?

Seidman Financial FP&A Training & Development Programs

We help companies like yours and financial leaders like you build exceptional corporate financial planning & analysis (FP&A) functions and cultures by developing finance professionals like you into even more powerful performers. In that way, financial intelligence becomes a key driver of success.

I didn’t want to leave without thanking you for a great class. I loved it and leave with many helpful take-always that I will work to develop and implement through our Finance and Accounting team. A huge additional benefit is that I will better understand the models I am given by analysts on various deals we look at. The materials were excellent as was your teaching and sharing. Fun and interesting too! Please let me know if there is a course evaluation that I can fill out. You get the highest marks in every respect. Lastly, thank you for the extra time you took with me. It made all the difference.

Why most training providers get it wrong and training fails to stick.

Hi I’m Carl Seidman.

As an FP&A practitioner and educator, I see a lot of financial professionals struggle in their careers. They start out with a good education, find an organization with the culture and values that align with theirs, but over time, things break down. Unsure of how to align themselves with where the direction of the profession is going, they become siloed in their current role. They face endless pressures that include intense workloads, limited time to upskill, unclear processes and standards, constant time pressures and other challenges on a daily basis. It’s a source of constant frustration and I see it everywhere. If it’s too chronic, people get stressed or burned out and leave to find something else.

They want to be better at their jobs, have greater confidence and more control over their impact and the direction of their careers.

I see similar challenges with FP&A Directors and financial leadership—even CFOs. They want uniformity in approaches and consistent processes that their entire financial team engages in and promotes. They want to increase the value that their financial team provides the entire organization—to become better business partners. FP&A should no longer be seen as a cost center support function.

This is why I love doing the FP&A development work I do for some of the most influential companies around the world. I am able to work closely with financial leaders and professionals to solve these problems within their organizations so they can enjoy their work and contribute in a more unified, empowered manner.

Why do the top companies hire Carl Seidman again and again?

Nearly all advanced financial training is done by former investment bankers, Excel gurus with little-to-no financial background, or professors with little-to-no corporate experience. Even other FP&A-centric programs, created by FP&A professionals with limited breadth of experience, are primarily focused on fundamental concepts. They don’t effectively address the nuanced world of FP&A and don’t know what’s changing in the profession. Carl has nearly 2 decades of FP&A and management consulting experience and has delivered training programs at companies including: ABM Industries, Broadridge, Choice Hotels, Cigna, The Department of Housing and Urban Development, Discover, HP Enterprise, Marsh & McLennan, Michelin, Spotify, U.S. Steel, Whole Foods, Verizon, and Walmart.

I know that we’re only half way through the Cigna Financial Development Program training sessions, but I wanted to send you a note to THANK YOU for hosting the session in CT over the last two days. The feedback from the session has been overwhelmingly positive! Several of my program members noted that it was the best training they have ever attended (and we pride ourselves on having a strong training curriculum!). One of my associates noted that the session was mind blowing and several Cigna Finance leads are already asking me how they can get their staff engaged in the course. I’m very excited about the rave reviews and wanted to share. The learnings will definitely help to create efficiencies and process improvements in our organization. Thank you again for providing my team with a wonderful learning experience.
